Nature Farm

What is it?

There’s nothing that brings you more of a sense of calmness than the sound of running water or fish splashing, the smell of the soil after a rainfall, or the way sunlight dapples the forest floor. So why not bring that same sense of tranquility into a room? A natured-themed room like Nature Farm inspires individuals to rethink their relationship with nature and current consumerist models in order to mobilize sustainable initiatives. We achieve this transformation through educational programs and community-based growing of food.

Nature Farm offers resources in various education levels including elementary, secondary, and post-secondary. Each level is provided with well-integrated and structured Lesson Plan that ensures the learning criteria for that education level is achieved. Lesson Plans are designed to have strong relation with bio-inspired products from the partnered company, HiGarden, to supply a hands-on and direct experience to the audience. This system-based approach to learning gives the opportunity to do thorough observation and formal study to result in a fully immersive and connective learning experience.

What Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) are met?

Another important outcome of the Nature Farm’s program is the growing of fresh food for the community. This food is donated to a food bank at the community centre housing the Nature Farm. Together at the Farm, education, technology, and provisioning of food help to contribute to a number of UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The Nature Farm’s broader calling is to contribute to UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and therefore chart a course for a more prosperous, peaceful, and sustainable world.
